Meaning of Preposition (पूर्वसर्ग) :
*** A Preposition is a word placed before a noun or a pronoun to show in what relation the person or thing denoted by it stand regard to something else.
◆ There is a cow in the field.
◆ He is fond of coffee.
◆ The cat jumped off the chair.
∆ in, of, off these words show the relation between two things such as ;
+ Cow (noun)and the field
+ fond(adjective) and tea
+ jumped (verb) and the chair
The words in, of, and off are here used in the sentences as a Preposition.
